I have an asus a7v133 mobo with 512 pc133 ram running a tbird 1.2ghz.

I was gonna buy a new mobo ram and proc, but im wondering if I will really see a significant performance boost as opposed to just buying a new proc.

So if I go for a new proc.. and I believe my mobo can support up to the xp 2200. What is going to be my best value vs speed (Im a gamer)

You'll only notice a difference in games and other CPU intensive tasks... you won't see much difference at all in normal Windows tasks like web surfing, work processing, etc.

if you're looking for a cheap speed increase, just get an XP1700 processor... if you want to see the full potential of it, you'll need a new motherboard and RAM... if you want to see the potential that stuff has to offer, you'll need a fast hard drive, preferably an 8 MB cache model
