The reviews for the Canon Pixma MP760 look good. I'm hoping it's exactly the same as the PIXUS MP770 offered here in japan. Anyway, I don't kn ow anything about printers and this one seems to have it all (and was recommended at work).
Thoughts?

It's a great printer, low cost ink, excellent photos and text. The scanner is good quality as well.

. I wouldn't buy an AIO for the standard reasons. I would get a Canon Pixma iP4000 and a separate scanner. If you're short on space, stack 'em...

I very rarely use the top-loading paper tray of my iP4000...the bottom cartidge-feed thing is very handy. :D

I agree that seperate printer and scanners are usally better but some people want the easy copy feature that an AIO provides. Their is definitly a market for it.

I press the "Copy" button on my Epson scanner (most have a "Copy" button now) and a short time later there is a copy coming out of my Canon printer - I may have to respond to a dialog box asking if I want color or B/W. Granted, you do have to have your computer on for that to work...

Yes but the computer needs to be on in your case the AIO don't need the computer at all.

Well, that's exactly what I said in my last post to the thread. But since my confuser is on just about all the time I'm awake, then that isn't a factor for me. However, if all you want is a cheap copy machine, then that would serve as well as any. But separates are more flexible and may even cost less. The iP4000 (basically the same print engine that's in the 760) (while they last) runs $80-100. after rebate and a very good, NIB scanner can be had off eBay and elsewhere for under $50. shipped. So perhaps price can sway you as separates are BOTH more flexible AND cheaper WITH potentially better reliability... Good luck either way.

Yup the iP4000 rocks. Awesome digital photo prints. Only 80.00 after rebate.

Plus the ink cartridges arent chipped so you can refill them over and over but knockoffs are only about 4-5.00 each.
