I had an x1800xt which was pretty nice but it died and I got my cash back. What do you think would be the best card now at a good value for $200-300?

thanks guys!

7900gt FTW (can be had from newegg for 230). i know it not as great as the x1800xt but its cooler qand has a lot of OCing headroom. on the other hand there's the x1900gt that cost 299 and does have the ati IQ but is slower and hotter.

its really your choice but in that range the x1800xt is the BEST.

7900GT or an X1800XT.

i personally would go with the 7900GT because it OCs like mad (if you do the mods) and has better drivers (IMO).

Another X1800XT. They're selling for like $219 now and they're faster and cheaper then the 7900gt. If you've been owning a Xt, and you go with the 7900GT, your frame rate is more then likely going to go downwards.

7900GT $269
Conductive Ink Pen $10
Third Party cooler $20

Total: $299 and a 7900GTX - 256mb RAM = Something really really fast.

I'll sell you my 6600gt for $300. It's a little more expensive...because...well...it has my fingerprints on it.

I ordered 2 x 7600GTs for $110 something on Chumbo.com the other day. I'm pretty sure it's a mistake on their part but waiting to see if they will honor my order.

I would say that you should cancel the order
I would rather have 1 X 1800XT rather than 2 7600GTs

I have a friend who bought dual 7600GS's w/ the passive heat sink and runs them in SLi. $200 and he hits 7200 in 3dMark05 (he didn't download 06 to see what it was). Very nice performance to dollar ratio. Of course, it was stock card/application settings but I think that's how benches should be run anyway. I have a 7900GTX Superclock I got as a step up and it gets like 9200 in the same bench. But for 3x the cost, almost.

If you could get an X1800XT for 110 sheets then maybe.
