Anyone know of some good value comfy earbuds? I'm kind of short on cash right now and I need them for a wherehouse environment, so exact sound quality is not a necessity, but I have small ears and need something that can fit. I've had a problem with earbuds in the past, inculding the stock iPod ones. Anyone out there have similarly small ears and found some earbuds that work for them?

Hmmmm! Comfy and earbuds? Seems like an oxymoron. :)

Worth a bump anyway.

I really like the newer Sony S2 Sports verticle in-the-ear headphones. They have a 16mm speaker, which is more than most, and they have incredible bass for tiny headphones (at least it's better than the last two generations of Sony Sports headphones I had). It seems like the earpiece is a little bigger than most, but it's shaped better. My GF has very small ears and says they fit better than any of the other ones she's tried (actually she stole them for the week and I've had to go back to my old ones).

Best Buy has them and they're $15.99 for the regular ones and $19.99 for the folding ones. The folding ones seem more comfortable to me, but then I've got a pretty big head.

I just like the vertical in-the-ear ones because they let air in around them and you can hear stuff around you fine, they're really light (like earbuds), they're plenty loud without letting everybody hear your music (like earbuds), but they're not dangling off your ears and don't have to be wedged in there like the earbuds. I guess that's just me, though, because they don't seem to have caught on too well. There's like one person at my gym with the same headphones as me, but other than that I never see them.

Anyway, I'd go into Best Buy and just start trying different headphones on. If they give you crap (they'll probably just act confused if you ask), you can just buy them and return them immediately. Because screw them. Best Buy sucks.

Besides, what do they expect you to do when everything is in disposable plastic packaging? You gotta see if it fits.

I'd certainly never use the ones with a 9mm driver after hearing the ones with a 16mm driver, though...

You want to try them on before you randomly go buy something on eBay, especially something like those that are available in different sizes.

Does anyone have a suggestion for earbuds that don't block outside noise? I'm looking for something for excercise or around the house where it would be helpful to hear outside noise.

These are fantastic:

Blue/purple earbuds, they don't go inside your ear, they only cost $15, they have a nifty wind-up case, they sound fantastic, and the earpads are made of a comfy silicon instead of foam (replaceable too!). Radio Shack # 33-1161. You can buy them locally or online. I use these with my iPod Shuffle, they sound pretty darn good for the price! Replacement earpads are here: (I haven't needed any yet after a year or two of use)

target and best buy are selling surround sound earbuds for 20 bucks from Phillips.

you can also try noise cancelling earbuds for a few more dollars, but make sure you get the ones that do not use batteries if you do get these kinds, because the ones that do not use a battery sound just as good as the ones that do, fyi

Does it really have to be earbuds? I use KOSS KSC-35s for working out and they are pretty comfortable. I tried a lot of earbuds at one point for working out and none stayed on while i was playing basketball except these. An added bonus is the sound quality too!

you definitely need to wear them and try them on.

great reviews on shure and etymotics but when I started trying different kinds, I ended up liking Koss foam padded for my "delicate" ears.
