Best Value 2.1 Speakers?

I'm not sure if this is the right forum to post this question in, but here goes:

I'm just looking for a decent set of 2.1 speakers. don't really want to spend more than $45. I guess it'd be nice if they could crank it a little bit, but they don't need to be fantastic. Some suggestions on what the best speakers for the price would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Ken

Ok, I have not tried very many 2.1 systems, so I cannot tell you which one is the best, I can, however, tell you about the 2 I have owned. I recently upgraded from Cambridge Soundworks PC works 2.1 system. You can find this system at newegg for like $35. They work well, though do not have stellar base and can't go super loud. I used these for over 3 years and was very happy with them.

I bought my girlfriend the logitech z-340's 2.1 (costs $36 at newegg.com) After listening to these for a while I was impressed. they sound better then the cambridge and have a larger sub. Again, don't expect huge bass or really loud speakers, but they are a really good deal for the money.

Now I am sure there are a ton of other 2.1 setups out there, probably some that are better then the ones I listed so take that into account when you decide which ones to get. Of the 2 I know about, I would reccomend the z-340's. Of course, I could never use them anymore since I just upgraded to the z-560's.... there is no going back now 🙂

hope that helps

The Monsoon MH500 flat panel speakers, are the best 2.1 I've heard. They are also ZDnets top choice. They are a few dollars more, but check them out.I have seen them for around $50-$60.
I think they are about 70 watts, and the flat panels are sharp! Well worth the few extra dollars.

I have a set of GNT-5000A speakers and I love them. When I bought them 5 years ago they cost me about $45. You can probably pick up a set for about $35-$40. Hope this helps.
