go to library, consumer reports is your friend. you have no other rational way of choosing, looking at the box aint' gonna give u any real info. might as well close your eyes and pick randomly

 

My parents bought a Fanton Fury after reading some Consumer Reports reviews a few years ago. We bought it at K-Mart after the Fantom stopped being sold on TV only. It's great - sucks up all the dog hair that our mutt Ollie can throw at it. I'd recommend a Fantom brand vacuum.
