best used car for under 8k?

my car just got wrecked today in an accident...unfixable according to my roomate as a main support beam is bent...amazingly, I came out unscathed...anyhoo, it was a 92 camry, so i'm probably not going to get very much money for it...since I'm just a poor grad student, I'd like to get a car that's reliable like my old camry...if possible, i'd like all wheel drive...manual transmission is a must...
any ideas?

oh, it was the other guy's fault, so what exactly happens? progressive claims is supposed to come by sometime tomorrow...

i'd get a 94-97 Acura Intgra LS or GS-R. Consistantly rated as one of the best used cars available- they are GREAT cars!

I think it's pretty obvious that you are going to end up with a 96-97 Nissan Maxima 5 speed. But if you want to resist and make a big fuss, so be it
