With $190 to spend on 1 or 2 harddrives, what would be the best use of money?
With 1 harddrive, I get butloads of space.
With 2 harddrives, I can have the operating system and save file/backup drivers on one drive, and the swap file and programs on the other (TTBOMK, this increases performance)..but I loose some space.
Here are 3 Options that I have thought of.
(lets use www.mwave.com pricing for consistancy)
1)WD 120GB WD1200JB EIDE ULTRA-ATA 100 7200RPM SE W/8MB BUFFER $191
2)MAXTOR 40.0GB DX6L040J2 EIDE ULTRA-ATA 133 8.5NS 7200RPM 2MB BUFFER (Windows XP and Saves/BAckups) $79
& MAXTOR 60.0GB DX6L060J3 EIDE ULTRA-ATA 133 8.5NS 7200RPM 2MB BUFFER (Programs) $99
3)WD 80GB WD1200JB EIDE ULTRA-ATA 100 7200RPM SE W/8MB BUFFER $123
..and use the remaining $70 to incease a video card or CPU fund allocation? (on previous post of mine)
Or can you think of something better in the same budget range?
