I have had some pretty bad luck with ESATA enclosures, and I think I am ready to move on to USB 3.0.

What are the most reliable enclosures you all have tried? Willing to pay a bit of a premium if needed.

Been happy with the Rosewill one. It can be quite noisy since it's all metal with many vent holes.

If you're quick, you can still get in on today's Shell-Shocker (I think all the SS's expire at midnight Pacific?). Rosewill USB3+eSATA enclosure for $35. Add the 30%-off Rosewill enclosure coupon (EMCJHKB54) on top of that, and it's down to $24.49. This version has adjustable fan speeds, which might help with noise issues...

Rosewill works.

Like stargazr...I have a number of Rosewill enclosures, actually the link he posted, that work well. I used the Rosewill promo code on newegg to order another one, bringing my total to 5 of that model.

Why? Even if the USB conversion electronics fail...I will have a replacement. I have noticed no issues so far though.
