Best upgrade path for future

Planning on getting a AMD rig in the future....
Is the famous cheap ECS SiS735 based board (dont remember name) a safe path or would a KT266A board be better?

The SIS735 is a proven Mobo for a great price, but you can pick up a Shuttle board using the KT266A chipset for around $20 more. Check out some of the reviews, the Kt266a boards consistantly beat out every other AMD mobo in benchmarks.

Thanks. I don't live in the 'land-of-cheap-computer-hardware' (US) but planning on moving there early next year. Scanning for hardware to get now.
It seems that the AMD mobos more or less takes any socket A CPU's and price goes up with number of features.
