I haven't seen any used 6950s yet, but used GTX480s are also in my price range. While I realize that I would not be able to double up on them down the road, would buying one give me the best performance boost in my price range right now?
I could put a PCI-mounted fan under it (~$10) to try and keep it cool, and potentially sell my PSU (to the same friend) and upgrade it if necessary.
Otherwise, a 6950 it shall be.
