I don't think the lag is that noticeable it's just a matter of getting used to it. I didn't notice it in bf4 as much as 2k14 which is weird. I didn't change the input type of hdmi to pc as that makes it kind of blurry. I left it on vivid setting and just went to picture options and turned off all the options there and just set black level to low and it looks great like that. Plays well too on ps4.

If you change the input type of the hdmi selection to game setting it auto turns the pic options off too. Setting black level to low and leaving the vivid setting with the advanced game mode setting in the hdmi options it also looks and plays well just not as bright as with just the standard hdmi option.

For this tv I think 28ms is good. I just hate messing with all those settings. Can't tell it's input lag or not at times.

The settings I gave you are more accurate. Of course they look faded compared to Vivid. Vivid is blowing out the whites and causing all the colors to make your eyes bleed. Not literally of course. But...whatever you want to do.

Yeah I notice vivid mode is very sharp. Kind of too bright enough after a while that my eyes start hurting. I'll have to mess with the settings you gave me some more to adjust them to my liking which will take some time. I played for a couple hours today and while vivid looks good in 2k14, it hurts my eyes in battlefield 4.

You're probably right. There is way too much light lol. You know when your settings are incorrect when operation locker looks like it's an outdoor level in the tunnels.

I think I'll try standard picture setting with the motion effects off. It's kind of annoying messing with all these settings. I feel like I'm tweaking a game my pc.

I still was not able to find input lag averages for that vizio 420i A0 model. Overall I think LG may have a better picture if I'm mainly using it for games and movies.

The week leading up to the Super Bowl always have the best TV prices. I'm waiting until then for my next set. Probably for my bedroom so 50 inches will do.

Yeah maybe I should have waited. I could return it since it was from Wal-Mart but they didn't really have a good selection for what I want. They do have a nice selection of 50 inch tv's but I don't want anything bigger than 42 or 46. I figure I can mess with settings for a couple of days and if I don't like it I still kept the box.

I had the sand lg tv in 42inch but took it back and got a 42inch Vizio smart tv for cheaper and I'm much happier with it. Vizio makes good tvs from what I've seen in person.

My 42inch is 11feet from the couch, I just didnt have the money to go bigger. My next purchase will be a 1080p projector and a 100inch screen. Ive got a huge wall thats dying for a PJ. Once the led projectors become affordable ill be buying one. Life sized 2k is what I need

Weird because I paid less for this tv than the vizio you are talking about. That's the one I originally wanted. It cost a bit more than this one and it had WiFi but not all smart features an actual smart tv has. Like the vizio I linked in post one didn't have dlna support. But from what I read mostly Samsung has that.

Vizio does make good tv's it just wasn't cheaper than this one and the picture looked faded compared to this LG. I don't care much for cable but on ps4 I'm using the standard pic option with the effects turned off and gama to medium. It is much more bearable than the vivid mode although it does not look as sharp as vivid does.

I think the only difference between standard and vivid is vivid has contrast to 100 same for backlight and sharpness to 30 and color to 70. Standard has backlight to 100, contrast at 90 and the other two much less. I'm tired of messing with the options so I hope this will do.

I can just turn up sharpness and color on standard while keeping the defaults on backlight and contrast to make up for that.

My vizio has dlna, I got mine from the pawn shop in the box with the plastic still on it for $200 . Granted my vizio is only LCD and not led. I really don't care for the cheap led TVs because the backlighting on them is normally terrible and you get hot spots in the corners

I'm suprised how nice the tv is so far. Watched some hd movies on it and some blu rays. Its really sharp and clear. The backlight on it is fine and I've noticed on other models on display when it had some dark screens, you could see the corners light up. But I've not noticed this with mine. I think I'll keep it.

If your happy with it then great the one I got was bad for hotspots. If it was a white background it had this horrible blue hue in the corners and if it was black it looked grey. I did have a Samsung plasma before the lg so I probably got spoiled by the picture of that set. I'm really happy with my vizio just wish it was bigger.

Hopefully I can snag a good projector this year from Best Buy and use the credit card to get 18 months no interest on it. My buddy told me to come check something out and he got a new projector and a Xbox one and was playing 2k14 on it. That was a site to see, I was really impressed

Projector would be nice I just don't have the wall for it. My buddy had one and we would always go to watch the games at his house. Look for best buy sale one day and use their store card for 0%. That the only time I use their store card.

I could have got the 47 inch model but I was worried it would not fit in the car. The 42 fit fine in my lancer's backseat. I'm suprised how compact they have made the boxes now.

I was going off of displaylag.com and really wanted a Samsung model but could not find one in 42 inches for what I wanted to pay.

If just for yourself, I'd recommend...the smallest 1080p plasma you can find.

Or wait and pray for AMOLED.

I honestly prefer the picture on my rinky dink 7.7 inch AMOLED tablet to the 55 inch plasma tv.
