best upgrade for gaming?

Hi fellow Gurus! I am running a Q6600@3.4GHz with two 8800GT's in SLI. What would be the best route to take for some added Holiday gaming power? New cpu or gpu? My guess is gpu but to make a noticable difference over the SLI setup I have now I would prob have to go up pretty high on the chart. Your input is appreciated!

If you can find one. Or one or 2 GTX 295's which you can find.

I would go for 5870. Or if you want extreme results, 2 x 5870 or 5970. But the later won't give very high performance mainly due to CPU bottleneck. I would suggest the previous as it is a future safe investment.

What resolution do you game at? A 5870 would be overkill IMHO unless you are running 1920x1200 or higher. If you are not running at this resolution or higher, I would recommend a new monitor and GPU.

Thanks Everyone!! I just ordered a 28" monitor @ 1920x1200 so the 5870 is on the horizon!
