I am currently on a break for about a month (company is remodeling). And find myself playing world of warcraft a lot. My problem though is that my i9300 only gets 25-40 fps. Usually 25. I have tried many different driver sets from laptopvideo2go, but the performance is always the same. Even in lower resolutions, min or max detail. Nothing really seems to change my fps. is this a video card issue or something else?

I currently have the 730 P-M 1.6ghz, 1g 533 ddr2, and the 6800 go non-ultra.

In order to resolve that issue i am planning on doing the mod here -

Is that a correct assumption? Upgrading the video card?

Also keep in mind this system just has windows on it. Windows and drivers and World of warcraft. Nothing else.

Have you tried the automatic O/C? Go to advanced display settings, select the "GeForce go 6800", and then "Clock Frequencies." Choose manual o/c, and "detect optimal frequencies." That should help a bit.

after talking with a "dm" i found that their was a bug in the game introduced back with an earilier patch. When you have the game in windowed mode it cuts your fps in half.

If i upgraded to the new 7800 for my laptop would this improve my fps signifcally?

i already have a PC, but i prefer my laptop for two reasons. One i can take it anywheres and get constain proforance (lan parties, vactions, etc). Two its so small.

my the most important specs of my desktop -

AMD Athlon 64 3000+@ 2.34
Geil DDR500 Dual Channel 1GB @260
ATI Radeon x700 PRO PCI-E

My plan was when the x600 came out to upgrade to that, but it turns out that 2x x600xt are about the same proformance as 1x x700 PRO. So that doesnt work.
