Best (ultra) Portable Laptop

Considering buying a new laptop within six months, here are my options.
What do you guys think?

1. IBM Lenovo Thinkpad T43 - I have been working with this series of computers for awhile now and like them, I've just never owned one personally. Cost around $1500.

2. IBM Lenovo Thinkpad X60 - This is a true ultra portable, and seems to have good reviews. This pushes my budget for a laptop, btw.

3. Apple MacBook - Would allow BootCamp dual boot to xp / OS X op.systems, and could cost close to the T- series. (Icing on the cake, free ipod with purchase)

Am I missing one to compair with here?

Things to consider?

1. With Vista so close, is it wise to buy a laptop without it? Will todays current technology in laptops be enough for Vista?, or will it take a few years like it did with xp for lappy's to run it right? Does Vista offer anything over xp for a portable being used for only work/school?

2. Is the Next OS/ X(i) far behind? Is it worth waiting for?

3. This is for Work / School only. (dont need the distraction of powerleveling that new Daenei up to my dwarfs lv.)

4. Battery Life is a MAJOR pet pev of mine.
