Best type of life insurance policy and benefit?

I'm looking at buying some LI coverage, and just wondering what type is the best, and what type of limit is recommended. I'm young, so I can pay into it for awhile.
 
The first question is: why do you want life insurance?

Is there another person who depends on your income and would be fiancially devastated if you were to die?

If not, there's no good reason to insure your life right now, except perhaps a few thousand bucks to pay for your funeral.

Bah. It never hurts to buy a 50 or 100k u/l when you're young to cover funeral expenses way down the road. It's cheap and you never have to worry about being a financial burden on those around you when you're gone.
