Best TV Tuner

Last year I bought a used ATI All-in-Wonder Pro but I have not used it all in my PC because its 3D gameplay is so bad. I don't play a lot of 3D games, but enough to justify holding onto my Voodoo3. I'd like to be able to watch tv on my PC, so I am looking for a stand alone PCI TV Tuner. Of the top 3 out there, ATI TV Wonder, Hauppauge WinTV and Voodoo TV 200, which would you recommend? I would like to have one with a digital VCR so I can save shows to my hard drive to watch later. Do any of these have this feature?

Thank you,

chernY

VoodooTV 200 has video capture (I assume that is what you meant by "digital VCR&quot😉. But I don't use it. I have used Hauppage's product and I also have the VTV200. If the signal in your cable is weak, you may want the VTV200. I have cable but some channels did not come in too clearly at all with the Hauappage. With The VTV200, they did. The only problem with the VTV200 is that some channels come in "mute"--no sound. It seems to be limited to channels I had problem with using the Hauppage. The weak signal in my cable is the only reason I still use VTV200. Otherwise, I would have picked the WinTV.

I hear, though, the VTV200's video capture is pretty good. But like I said, I don't use it and I've never tried it.

I have the ATI TV wonder (the one with the digital VCR).
It works fine with win98, if thats what u are using.
With win2k, the tv works fine(with directX 8) but the recording capabilities are messed up since the multimedia center(version 7.1) provided by ATI for win2k is still the beta version.

My thanks go to Samarth and Legion88 too! I am going to get a DSS system and would like to use my computer to tape some programs because I don't want a huge tv in my room. Considering that, I will probably go with the ATI or VoodooTV. peace,

happauge has good win2k drivers, but almost no features, the other two have good other stuff. I used to have the happauge before i bought an external pass through converter for my 2nd monitor. Its a good card for just tv and avi vid capture is ok. the ati one has the best software but its horrible drivers

i have a ATI Tv Wonder VE (i think the only dif is no mpeg recording and stereo tv tuner, o wel, good for 80 cnd no tax) anyways, it works perfect and i haven't had any probs w/ it win WIndows 98 or ME. Great card, no crashese, and the quality isn't bad even at full screen.
