What's the best Tv Tuner card to get for going to a HDTV or PC for output?
Want it for doing tivo like stuff, no games.
I was going to get a ati tuner cause thats all I know, but am I dont want a half@ss gaming card/half@ss tuner combo. Whats 'the' one to have for Turning old asus P3 into a media pc.

Don't get an ATI tuner card, the picture quality is bad and the Multimedia Center software is buggy.

Love my AIW. No problems here. Every system is different though because of differenct components / quality and software.

Thx for the lead, will follow it when I get home tonight. Im looking to get a good tv Only card for around $150.
I got a sapphire 9500np L-shaped oem model from last sept (i saw slip), for trade up front. now I gotta fill my half. And he just said he just wanted "a Tuner Card, I'm not a gamer". So I want to get him the best thing I can for his HDTV movie room. But the remotes a must, cause there's NO place for a keyboard in his den.

Look into the Hauppauge PVR-250 and 350. Many of the HTPC software packages are designed for them, and many other TV-Cards are clones of them.

www.htpcnews.com has a recent write-up on it.

I use an MDP-120 along with a <a target=new class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://www.digitalconnection.com/Products/Video/fusion3.asp">DVICO Fusion HDTV3</a> for Tivo-like time shifting.

A good rundown of current cards, <a target=new class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?threadid=207262">HDTV card buyers guide</a> Long but full of info.

Wow thanks for that excellent link.
