Panasonic Tau, Toshiba or JVC.

You can get a high end 27"
or
a low end 32" for $500

panasonic tau or a sony wega. 27" hands down best 2 tv's for 500

btw, its silly to get a crappy 32" for the same price.. the high ends are WAY better

So which one is better? Tau or Wega? I was thinking Wega for the longest time but I've heard it has a plethora of problems.

I bought a 30 inch flat 16:9 widescreen NON HDTV for around $450 from Sams club. IT's an Akai, and so far has given me no problems and is AWESOME for DVD watching. No progressive scan though...but still widescreen.

Thanks for the recommendations. I'm going to go and look at some TV's today (Best Buy, Circuit City, Warehouse store, etc..)

I actually bought my TV at Wal-Mart... but it's nothing special, Sanyo 27" w/ PiP, s-video, 2 sets of a/vs. Decent, though. Paid around $400 for it about a year and a half ago.

I'd definitely go for a Panasonic Tau or a Sony VVega if you can find one for that price...and you won't find either at Walmart. :)
