I will be getting $350 for a tv. I prefer to go to the store and pick it up, or if some place offers free shipping that would be good.

I prefer a flat screen at around 27 or greater, but picture quality is more important than the flat screen.

Any suggestions?

Do you have a CostCo near by?

I've seen some very nice high quality Panasonic and Toshiba TV's for cheap there.

The new bad ass Panasonic Tau's are around $450'ish but worth every penny, flat and gorgeous.

Stay away from Panasonic. The quality of their products has dropped greatly in recent years.

Me too! The 27A41 (I recall at least one other person here having this TV). Just buy the largest Toshiba you can. Flat or not. You WON'T be disappointed.

The 27" Akai (Samsung rebadge) Flatscreen at Sam's Club is still $350. That's probably the best 27"+ Flatscreen you can get for $350 without some serious deal engineering.

There are better TVs out there, but for price, features, & size it can't be beat.

i just saw a sharp 32" at best buy for $350 link here
don't know how good it is. i got a 27" toshiba (27a50) a couple years back, fish-eye tube (they've improved since then) and no front inputs :( but looks great :) toshiba makes darn good tvs.
depending on what your input needs are, toshiba makes 3 27" tvs, the best of which is only $360. that one has dual tuners, some interesting sound stuff (better sound quality, simulated surround sound, sound leveler) but those are all the differences and it costs $50 more than the middle one. i would take a good look at that sharp, though. if it's decent looking, and you have the room, you'll appreciate it. 32" is a lot bigger than 27"...

I suprised myself with the TV I found 3 years ago. I went to 5 different department stores and played around with TVs. I was looking to get a 25" or 27" for about $300. Ended up in circuit city. I found a Zenith that was unbelievable for the price. I know that Zenith has sort of gone down the crapper in recent years, but this tv is GREAT! I can't remember whether it is 25 or 27 inches ("It's big enough for me!"), but I got it for $350, and it had a digital comb filter and one of the best pictures I've ever seen on a normal TV. It's not flatscreen, but I don't care. I love it.
