Best TV Capture Software

Hey all,

I was wondering if anyone knew of any good/stable performing TV Capture software. I have an ATI TV Wonder VE and I'm less then thrilled with the software that ATI provides, especially under W2K. Anyway, I've tried this program called ShowShifter and it basically works like TiVo and I think that so far it's a pretty good program. Does anyone know of any others out there? If it's opensource that would be even better, but I don't dropping some cash on a well made TV Capture Rom. Thanks for your help.

Peace.

This is not as easy as it sounds. but if you have the video for windows enabled in win2k then you can download the Windows Media 8 Encoding Utility from Microsoft. In it, it has a video capture program that's quite good for recording. You can pre-allocate disk space, so it helps with preventing frame drops. In any case you need power to record. what do you have anyway.

I've decided to go with ShowShifter. I like the interface and its pretty easy to use. Let's me output to .avi using any codec I want. Anyway, now I'm looking for a nice video editor that'll let me edit out commercials 🙂. Any ideas anyone? Thanks.
