I've had one of those really big mouse pads I bought at frys, seemed good but I've been having tracking issues with it

What color is best to have? Does it make a diff if it's blue or black? What is best for tracking with optical mice?

A lot of that depends on what kind of mouse you have. An optical tracks better thasn a rubber ball, and a laser beats an LED optical. In fact, a good laser needs very little in the way of a mousepad to track smoothly and accurately.

Anything except a shiny, reflective surface is AOK. Cloth is nice, felt is nice, and marble is awesome with a laser.

Make sure you flip the mouse over and check for lint or hairs where the optical opening is. I get a dog hair stuck in my G5 once a month or so.

DON'T LOOK DIRECTLY INTO THE LASER!!!! Or do, your choice.

LOL, I don't think the lasers used in laser mice are very powerful I will look all I want!

Actually, it's an optical mouse, I actually bought it because at 1000 polling rate it out performs all other mice, the mx500.

However, It seems to have neg acceleration with this current mouse pad sometimes, I sure hope it's the mouse pad and not the mouse.
Sometimes it does get dust in it, but I clean that out and sometimes it still doesn't track well, doesn't seem to have the problem if I use my desk, I just don't like the feel of my desk, maybe it could happen on the desk but so far I haven't been able to reproduce it.

I actually ordered this http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000EIORKW

Has great reviews, it specifically lists that it's for low sense and it's giant, even a little bigger then the one I have now (which I want in a mouse pad) I may have overpaid for hype but if it gets my mouse to track perfectly it's worth it to me.

How do you know for sure? Have you tested the one I ordered? How do you know that both of them don't just track perfectly? :) Also do you have a link to the exact version you have? I looked up icemat looks like it's only 10inches by 12 inches is there a much bigger one? I use low mouse sense and a small pad will not cut it.

I got the mouse pad, it definitely is tracking better then my other one, it feels different still trying to get used to it.
