Defense Grid: The Awakening is good and has achievements that are recorded against your Steam account. There's 16 different alien classes (including airborne) and 10 different towers (with three power levels each). It has an isometric view of the map when playing, and you can zoom in to watch the nastiness being inflicted on the incoming aliens. You have to pay for it but it's not expensive.
