I have always loved her stuff, but just recently started listening to it all again. I only have two of her albums so far, I'm gonna buy a 3rd probably later today (thus the purpose of this poll): Little Earthquakes and Boys For Pele.

Anyway, vote!

You've already got the 2 best albums. IMHO. Next one i would get is Under The Pink. It's mellow, but really good. I really can't get into her newer stuff. though. And still haven't listend to Venus and Back. i've been enjoying DMB a lot lately. ;-P (And no, i'm a die hard fan, I knew about them when Under The Table came out so ;-P)

Her earlier stuff is definitely more accessible. "Under the Pink" is my favorite, although I also really like the Crucify EP, so look for that as well. It's got a remix of Crucify that's better than the original (IMHO), Winter (same version as on Little Earthquakes), plus three excellent covers:

"Angie" by the Rolling Stones
"Smells Like Teen Spirit" by Nirvana
"Thank You" by Led Zeppelin

It's still in print and should be available in most larger stores.

Why do people feel the need to post crap like this not once, but twice? I respect anyone's opinion, but when I ask about what Tori album is your favorite, that's not an invitation to come in and bash her....sheesh some people just like to be smartasses I guess.

That's your first mistake ;). In this type of thread there are always gonna be smartass responses.

Anyway...

Boys For Pele is probably my favorite. Followed by Little Earthquakes and From The Choirgirl Hotel.

Never cared for Strange Little Girls.

She's a piano player, a singer, a song writer, and a minister's daughter. She writes some interesting music that deals with a lot of serious stuff, much of it very personal.

She's not some manufactured pop "artist" like Spears.

Useless haters, please go poop somewhere else.

PS, I suggest Under The Pink for your next purchase. Listen to Icicle, it's kind of funny, along with The Waitress.

I just wanted to post again to say that if I were you I'd get "Under The Pink". Not only because you're a piano player and there are some gorgeous piano melodies on this album. But also because Tori is definitely an artist that has evolved a LOT over the years... you have the album on either side (LE and BFP), but Under the Pink is an important work that helps bridge the gap between those two albums (which are VERY different).

Not only that but I remember that you're fond of character sketches a la Ben Folds, and there are a bunch of those on this album. It's the least personal of any of her work, IMHO.

Just pick it up... you'll love it I'm sure. Incidentally, she has a new album coming out next month called "Scarlet's Walk". I have a few of the tracks already... if you want 'em let me know.

You asked which was my favorite TA album and I answered truthfully, the one she has yet to make. I didn't say she sucked, I didn't say she didn't have any talent and I didn't say she was as monotonous as DMB (because she isn't).

I know your Mommy said you were special but I'm not buying it.

::gasps and holds hands over ears:: You probably like like cookie cutter crap too. ;-p
Hehe...j/k. You're entitled to your opinion.

Edit: If you're confused about that comment, read my other post here.

i wish kazaa worked for me, i'd check 'em out.
Blocked by your Schools Firewall Danny? The Flecktones aren't like RATM and RHCP. They are more Jazz Fusion with a hot Banjo Player. Very Interesting and refreshing..unlike DMB.

Actually, bela fleck did a coupla things with dave matthews and have plans to do quite a few more projects. They're styles work very well with each other. And just out of curiosity, which albums are you referring to?

I agree that their most recent albums haven't been their best, but You can't say their music is all monotonous. I think they hit their peak at Crash. Anyhow...i digress.

Sorry for the poor assumptions, but I really do enjoy DMB and I wish they wouldn't sell out like the direction they're headed now. I've yet to hear their Busted Stuff album, but I'm not in any hurry. ::sigh::

Props on Bela Fleck...
