No Kidding - that song absolutely rocks. It made it to my "Finest of Hard Rock" mix CD within 2 listens and hasn't dissapointed since. That's record time, considering almost everything else on that CD is pre-1995!

man, parabol + parabola is just never too loud. i just cranked it as loud as my speakers would go and it just kept getting better and better.

i've loved these two tracks for a damn long time, still going strong. ;)

No question... the best Tool song is by far the live version of "Pushit" from the Salival CD.

I was thinking there was gonna be a recording of Sawzall's and sanders, with drill presses mixed in. I am confused.

I don't know that I could name a favorite, and it wouldn't be Lateralus if I could, but being an engineering nerd I do like it because, have you ever heard of the thing where you count the syllables in each line.

Black 1
and 1
White are 2
all I see 3
in my infancy 5
red and yellow then came to be 8
reachin out to me 5
let's me see 3

It is a fibonacci sequence 1-1-2-3-5-8 then back down 5-3

Lateralus is the best song ever, so I guess by default it is the best tool song ever.

I think there'll be harder questions on my midterm tomorrow ;)

yes...parabol/parabola is one of the best. But I honestly can't decide. Virtually the entire lateralus album is a masterpiece. Also a lot of songs from their earlier albums

Best song? Too hard to choose. Favorite off Opiate is Opriate. Favorite off Undertow is probably Prison Sex. Favorite off Aenima is Pushit. Favorite off of Salival is probably the "new" version of Pushit. Favorite off Lateralus is Lateralus. Of course this is like picking your favorite sexual position. I think almost all of Tool's songs are great, but these are the ones that strike a special chord w/me.

There are a lot of good Tool songs even though I've gotten out of them lately. There aren't too many I don't like so I guess they're all pretty good. Sober was what got me into them so that's up there.
