If the next generation video cards are merely incremental performance bumps, that focus on power efficiency, that might even *increase* demand for the earlier gen cards.
Didn't that sort of thing happen with the 5XXX series AMD cards, when the 6XXX series came out? Maybe? But I'm sure in some point historically you could see the price of used video card went up slightly, once all those "fence-sitters" waiting to see the new cards were like "no thanks, I'll sit out this generation, save money, and get a used card while I wait for next generation." So, that could raise demand for the older cards.
