Best time to buy a new laptop??

I'm in market for a new laptop. Never had one but would like one asap...
Should I wait a little bit? How long? After Christmas? New years?
When would I get a best bang for the buck?
Not much into gaming..but extra multimedia stuff is very intriguing...although I'll mostly use it for web and MS Office stuff.....

baring that, I'd say back to school deals.

your best bet is to find the best deal you can now..if you want a notebook now.
there are always deals to be had.
