I'm getting ready to build another budget system... and probably cannot wait until the newest ATI and NVidia cards are out.

So. I'm looking at affordable Ti4200 cards from newegg.com [ newegg is the greatest! ]

I would like a good TV output [ composite or S video], and I will overclock it. I don't know if 128MB VRAM is important.

Some of the choices are :

Chaintech Geforce4 4200 "GT20" 64MB W/TV-Out and DVI ports Retail $133.00
[Games/Software bundle:WinDVD, 3Deep MDK2] Free FedEx Shipping

ABIT SILURO GF4 TI4200 64MB DDR TV/DVI RETAIL $141.00
[Bundled Software: Driver/3Deep®/True Internet Color®/ABIT SiluroDVD] $5.00 FedEx Shipping

LEADTEK GeForce 4 TI4200 64M /TV BULK $145.00 Free FedEx Shipping

GAINWARD/CARDEXPERT GeForce 4 Ti 4200, 3.3ns, 64MB DDR. 1 DVI + 1 CRT + TV out $168.00
[Serious Sam FE] $6.00 FedEx Shipping

MSI G4Ti4200-TD (8870-040) GF4 TI4200 128MB 128bit TV-OUT DVI VGA Card Retail $178.00
Model#: G4Ti4200-TD [ Largest game bundle No One Lives Forever, Aquanox, etc. ]
$4.00 FedEx Shipping

I am thinking of the:

Gainward for the 3.3 ns memory, and because most Golden Samples have reviewed well and OC'ed

Chaintech for price

MSI for its good reputation and lots of games [ are they worthless games?? ]

I would welcome your personal opinions and shared experiences with Ti4200 cards.

The Asus 128MB V8420 Ti4200 card looks like one of the premium Ti4200's at $182.00 at mWave.com with $9.50 S/H [$203.00 $ newegg]

But I'm leaning towards the ABIT SILURO GF4 TI4200 64MB DDR TV/DVI RETAIL $141.00 at newegg $5.00 S/H

Has anyone seen the quality of the TV output from the Abit?

here is my 2 cents...

i think u should go w/ teh chaintech 128 mb card that newegg has... u'll want the 128 meg for the 80 meg doom III textures...

in terms of the golden sample getting better oc and all that..im not sure how much that'll actually come in... whats 230 fps vs 220 fps on quake III gonna do? ur eyes only get about 60 frames or so... and these gf4 cards will be enough to last u thru atleast the next generation of games and mayeb even more... and if that dun satisfy u...u'll prolly end up upgrading in 2 years or so or what nots... things change too fast nowadays to worry about bumpin' up the extra perforamce in 3-4 years... :-/
