Best Ti-83 and other calculator mods?

Hey guys. I was just flipping through my friends Ti today and noticed there are actually some pretty cool apps on some of these things. I figured this would be the place to find some absolutely awesome mods consdering the demographic (😉). Anyways, anyone got some good ones to share?

Anyway, best TI-83 mod is to swap in the internals of a TI-89. Bam, instant supercalc that's legal on any test in high school.

RPN is for engineers on speed, and nobody else.

whoa....what is so special about this calculator?

RPN is an... "alternate" way of entering calculations. The operators go at the end of the line, instead of the traditional location. Therefore you end up with something like 4,4+ meaning 4+4. Hence engineers on speed. They're the only people that can understand that crap.

One of my old AP Comp Sci labs was to write an RPN calculator. In short... NO.

My dad had a HP and it confused the crap out of me.

I have actually been thinking of doing this.

Can anyone tell me more about the different OS's and stuff for these things? I've seen some pretty complicated stuff.

I'm also trying to find a program that is supposed to mimic clearing your memory but it really doesn't.

Look up my thread on the same topic then.

It isn't too hard but it could be a potential waste of money if you don't need it.

wow, did you even try? in most if not all languages an RPN calculator is easier to program than a regular calculator.

and also I program on my TI-83+ when I get really bored.. it uses a form of BASIC. Wrote a program to cheat on a "target heart rate" test in a gym class.. pop in an age, it pops out THR low, high, and max HR.. wrote a screen-saver like program that randomly prints 1s and 0s around the screen, and one that prints whatever you tell it to around the screen.. also a few other crappier ones that we won't go into.
