I have a 550W power supply that I am only using the main motherboard connector, the 4 pin CPU and 2 SATA plugs. What it the BEST option for the unused cords/connections? I want the case to look neat, but there is not enough room to hide them behind the back panel. Can the unused ones be safely cut off, or will that kill the PS?

I know this is a stupid question, but i really don't want them "hanging around :)

Those wanting to do something similar without soldering , cut them off leaving about 3 inches of wire in case you want to re-attach later. Then put one end of a butt crimp connector on the wire. When you want to use later you can just put a wire in the other end and crimp it.
