Best texting phone on AT&T?

My wife has an iPhone and she really is not getting the most out of it. She doesn't use safari for Internet browsing. She doesn't use any of the iPod features and just uses the facebook app.

I've been thinking about just getting a new phone for her and save $20 a month with the data plan. She had a blackjack 2 and didn't really like it. She wants a regular phone probably something similar to the env2 as all she really does is text like a maniac.

Suggestions?

Probably any non-smartphone that has a full keyboard would work. If she uses Facebook and texts more than anything else, the non-smartphones have the option for unlimited data and text for 30.

We already have unlimited text on our accounts. She can access FB on her PC as I'd like to get rid of data all together from her phone.

How do any of the phones AT&T offer fare? She upgraded her phone last year so she isn't eligible for an upgrade so I'll probably buy a used one on eBay.

Sort of. Her iPhone was my original phone. I passed it down to her when I upgraded to the 3GS. So that phone isn't tied into anything.

Since you're not locked to 3G data, you have a massive choice for simple texting...

She wasn't a fan of a phone that didn't have a sliding keyboard. She had the BJ2 and did not like it.

The LG Xenon has a very nice keyboard for a feature phone... not cheap, tho...

My brother got the Samsung Impression for xmas and seems to like it enough. Slide out keyboard and all he does is text.
