Best Team to get in Unreal Tournament 2004

Right now, I have 3 members of the Blood Fist team: Rapier, Widowmaker, and Cobalt. I also have Lauren.

Who should I recruit? Is there a way I can get Malcolm and Xan?

I got Malcom on my team, even before beating the game. I actually didn't know that more free agents came on the "market" until near the end when I lost a teammate due to a challenge. I used Romulus, Torch, Avarice, Darkling, and Fury for the longest time.

Edit: hmm, it wasn't Malcom. When I bought him, his name was Malcom, but when I played him, his name changed to Wyrm. The face was that of Malcom, however.

How do you get the special characters like Malcom? Do you have to cheat?

No need for a cheat (unless I did it accidentally). Apparently as you beat more and more of the game, more free agents become available.

Huh? You recruit players for your team in this game? I thought it was just a shoot 'em up game like Quake1. Do certain characters have more powers than others?

I use Avarice, Darkling, and Torch also.

Well, it is a shoot 'em up game, but most of it is team based. You start with X number of credits which you use to draft a team from a list of free agents (bots). They are all given ratings on their accuracy, aggressiveness, agility and tactics.

I think if you cheat, you won't be able to unlock the special characters

It's a tough place so use the search functions before you ask noob Q's!

And no, if you cheat you get no goodies. You can also unlock them through the .ini but what fun is that!?

How do you progress from CTF and Double Dom to the other game modes. Been playing the single player a bit, haven't done all the CTF or DD, do you have to complete them all before the next modes open?

after you defeat a few of each of the "categories" (like CFT, DD, Assault, etc.), a new catergory will open up.
