Best tasting bread?

JEDI

Lifer
to me, bread is bread. they all taste the same if eaten plain.

what do you think the best tastin bread is? Why?

And where can you get it?

Homemade whole grain bread. I'm baking some tonight (its a two day process if you want wheat berries).

There is a company in SE Michigan called Great Harvest Bread Co. that makes the best tasting bread i have ever eaten. They have they special kind called Cheddar Bread. It is sourdough bread with perfectly sized pieces of sharp cheddar baked into it. It tastes amazing.
I also love regular fresh hot, crusty french bread. I could eat it just plain.

i also love beer bread, although its no supposed to be so much of a bread thats eaten alone as it is used for dipping. but mmm its great plain.

A nice good sourdough. We have some great local bakeries in the SF Bay Area that make some amazing sourdough.

This thread made me go and make a loaf of bread. 4 more minutes until the beer bread is ready! I hate waiting for things to cool down!

Sourdough bread fresh from mom's oven. She always has to make a double batch because between me, my dad, & sister the first loaf is eaten within 30 minutes. There were some nights dinner was nothing but bread & water and we liked it 😛
