Best system for around $1600?

I tried searching, but couldn't exactly find what I was looking for. For around $1,600 what would be the best system choice? I was thinking perhaps the 3800+ x2 when it comes out, with an SLI board and one 6800 ultra and add another later. I'd also like a nice case with a good amount of room to work with, that is also quiet and has good airflow. Any suggestions are appreicated.

For 1600, you could easily build a system around a A64 3700 SanDiego, 1GB corsair ValueSelect, a PCIe 6800GT, and a NF4U based mobo. Those are your core components. The HDD, optical drive, case, and PSU are all relatively easy and cheap. Cases can get really expensive, but I think you looking for something in the economical segment? Said system won't have a Dell 2005FPW LCD or anything of that caliber, but a 19in CRT is easily to fit in that budget. Perhaps a 17in or a 19in LCD, if you shop around and catch some deals.

Building a decent SLI system with 1600 would be a lot tougher, as you would need to spend more on the mobo and PSU, not to mention the two video cards. 6600GT SLI is a total waste, so you'll want to go with 6800GTs/Ultra or 7800GTXs. Two 7800GTXs alone right now will run you over a 1000, two 6800GTs will run around 700ish.

Here goes 😉.
-EPOX 9NPA+Ultra $105
-4200+ $550
-Seagate 120GB $90
-7800GTX $500
-Antec Fulltower Case w/ 500W Smartpower $124 (plenty of room, plenty of power)
-2 GB (2x1GB) Corsair ValueSelect $180
-BenQ Burner $45
-Floppy $10
-$140 19" NEC monitor http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16824002089

$1499 without the monitor. $1639 with monitor. Damn. Time to downgrade the graphics card to a 6800GT (EVGA 6800GT http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductLi...ry=0&minPrice=&maxPrice=&Go.x=0&Go.y=0 $350, so you save $150)

Brings the price down to $1489 (monitor included). You've got about $110 left to spend. You need speakers and a sound card.
Audigy 2-ZS $70 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16829102178
Logitech X530 (70W) $50 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16836121126

You end up going about $10 over the budget.

$1574..... haha just under the budget (I must have made a calculation mistake somewhere else). You've got enough cash (if you go slightly over your budget) to get an XP90 ($30, look in Hot Deals) + Panaflow L1A ($10) you go about $15 over your budget.

How's that for $1600?

I made some calculation error somewhere >_<! The total comes out to be $1714. Downgrade the 4200+ to a 3700+ San Diego ($323) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16819103539.

Forgot to mention, I already have a 2005fpw and two 730Bs in a tri monitor setup. I also already have windows XP. This money is all for the computer itself.
