I didn't have many games but I'd say my top is

Final Fantasy III
Super Mario World
Yoshi's Island
Megaman X
Gradius III
Star Fox can't really stand it now, 8 polys per item

In addition to what's been mentioned:

Super Metroid
Zelda: A Link to the Past
Chrono Trigger
Super Mario Kart
Tecmo Super Bowl

Castlevania 4
Earthbound
Legend of the Mystical Ninja
Super Metroid
Demon's Crest
Space Megaforce

....my opinion of course. Lots of other games I can add to this short list.

Super Bomberman w/ multi-tap and Super Mario Kart were the original party games. I loooove super bomberman's battle mode.

Chrono Trigger
Zelda: A Link to the Past
Super Mario RPG
Super Mario World
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles IV: Turtles in Time
Super Mario Kart

Super Buster Bros
Secret of Mana
Super Mario World
Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
Chrono Trigger
Final Fantasy III

Super Mario Kart
The Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past
Super Mario World
F-Zero
Star Fox
Soul Blazer (sleeper game)
Actraiser
Street Fighter 2 Turbo
Mortal Kombat 2
Super Bomberman (multiplayer w/the multitap is so amazing)

I think if I had to pick 1, it would be a tie between SMW, TLZ:LTTP, or SMK

Zelda: ALttP
Chrono Trigger
Secret of Mana
Super Mario RPG
Super Mario World

All else is just garbage 🙂

I'll name some that weren't mentioned:

Zombies Ate My Neighbors
Super Punch Out!!
Super Mario All-Star
Donkey Kong Country series

Legend Of Zelda: A Link To The Past
Super Mario World
Final Fantasy 2
Donkey Kong Country 1-2-3
Castlevania 4
Gradius III
Yoshi's Island

And my personal favorite:

Super Mario RPG: Legend Of The Seven Stars

Super Bomberman 1 and 2

Battletoads

I used to love super mario kart, but after the brilliance that is mariokart64 I can't go back, ever...

Super Mario RPG
Chronotrigger
Secret of Evermore

Most snes games suck by today's standard, but these 3 RPGs are still great by any standard.

Super Mario Kart
Chrono Trigger
Super Mario World
Bust-A-Move
Donkey Kong Country 2
Street Fighter 2 Turbo
Starfox
UniRacer
Mortal Kombat 2
Super Bomberman
Dirt Trax FX
Doom
Final Fantasy 3
Tales of Phantasia
Ken Griffey Jr Winning Run
NBA Jam TE
Super Battle Tanks
Top Gear 2

it keeps going... such an amazing system

Earthbound
Super Mario World
Super Mario Kart
Earthbound
Super Mario RPG
Chrono Trigger
SFII Turbo
NBA Jam TE
Secret of Mana
Super Metroid (challenging, too)
Mega Man X series
Earthbound

Nothing that wasn't mentioned. I recommend Earthbound to everyone.

honestly SNES is the greatest system of all time hands down.

Indeed. The games were incredible back then, and so many of them have stood the test of time. I cant say the same about most of the genesis, tg16, n64, ps1 and other systems that are now considered retro. It was like the SNES completely unleashed the creativity of the developers, and the end result was a huge quantity of extremely polished and still not only playable, but fantastic titles.

I'd like to add Cybernator to the list...a bit of a sleeper, but it was one brilliant game. And lets not forget illusion of gaia either. Or ogre battle.

FF2/4 and FF3/6 are garbage?

Epic fail.

I was just joking, hence the smiley.

FF4 was decent, but not overwhelmingly great.

I didn't give FF6 an honest play, as I quit when you had to escape by raft through some river, which I'm pretty sure is very early in the game. I was just bored by the characters at the time, however I should give the game another shot soon.

How was secret of evermore? I loved secret of mana actually much more than the ps1 ff7.
