My driveway has some long cracks and some spots where the top layer of asphalt has peeled away exposing the layer below.

I usually farm this out every year but I'm sick of the contractors who miss half the spots.

Any suggestions?

i tried several alternatives for small and moderate cracks. Alligayor cracks which peel away in layers are signs your asphalt is failing overall.

Not sure you have a cure option...but i had best results with degreasing and weeding the driveway, filling in cracks with a trowel applied asphalt repair compound and two to three coats of quality asphalt sealer

Weeding the driveway? Mine isn't quite that bad. The peeling is in just one spot. The cracks not so much.

I've been reading a 2 part epoxy for concrete is a great choice, but I'm still looking into it.

Which compound did you use?

Make sure what you pick is designed for asphalt or else it wont stick and will flake off in a year.

Thats what Im dealing with. Previous homeowner had an asphalt walkway and decided "skimcoat" it with concrete that was painted. Didnt even last 1 freeze cycle. Asphalt is oil and concrete wont stick to it.

Great point.

I was reading this article: http://www.askthebuilder.com/blacktop-crack-filler/

He recommended this: http://www.pcepoxy.com/our-products/concrete-repair-and-anchoring/pc-concrete.php

Which is weird cause like you said this is a concrete product. But the same company sells this: http://www.pcepoxy.com/our-products/joint-and-crack-filler/pc-xtreme.php which is for blacktop. So I'm a little confused. I'm going to contact the company to see which is best.
