Best store to buy an LCD

Can anyone comment on the returns policies for LCDs at major B&M or online stores? I know NewEgg has a limit at 8 dead pixels, which seems scarily high. I'm assuming the big name B&M stores have policies that are a bit less restrictive.

Or it might just be worth it to buy an extended warranty option at one of the B&M stores. Anyone here dealt with dead pixel issues before and have a store preference?

Thanks.

Sams Club and Costco has the best return policy for B&M. But both places require membership.

The last one I bought was from Staples and the guy I talked to in the store did not have any idea what pixles were let alone tell me how many dead ones they would allow without trading for another one.
I actually got the manager to write me a note guarnteeing me that the monitor would not have any dead pixles, I dont think he knew what I was talking about either.

I went through this a while ago and I couldn't find a place with what I really wanted, a ZERO dead or stuck pixel policy. I ended up going to ebay and got a new but tested LCD at a ridiculously low price with a zero dead or stuck pixel policy. I paid with cc through paypal so I knew I was covered. It was one of the best computing calls I've made.

I have a friend with a Costco membership, so I guess I'll go check them out. Hopefully they have a decent selection.

Heck yeah, I bought a 19" NEC MultiSync LCD1920NX monitor for $370 shipped. Why so cheap? It had scratches on the BACK of the base unit! THAT was my best purchase I ever made

30 days? Hehe. Try 6 months any reason return for electronics at Sams Club or 1 yr for general items. Or Costco's crazy 3 years any reason returns. That's what I call generous return policy.

3 years!? How can that be? Couldn't you just buy an LCD(or a complete computer system for that matter), use it for 2.99 years, then return it and use the cash to buy whatever's top of the line at the time?

Seems like they'd be offering continuous free upgrades for anything you buy.

Yes but hopefully people aren't that low and don't abuse the system at these member only stores. A guy I know returned HP system he bought at Sams a year ago and got brand new system plus the difference in cash back. They didn't give him any problems. He simply said his computer wasn't working anymore and they told him to go pick out a new one. I think he had various spywares on his old HP system. As long as you have your receipt you can pretty much return anything even outside the stated return period. My Sams Club have Samsung 213T for $1000 and something. I'm thinking about picking that LCD up during GA no sales tax day that's coming up.
