Best Stanley Kubrick Film

After watching another Kubrick film, Paths of Glory, I realized that he had to be the best filmmaker ever. What is his best work?

For me, it's a tie between Full Metal Jacket and Dr. Strangelove. But I voted for FMJ.

You should watch some Hitchcock.

It was between FMJ and the Shining for me. I just love Jack Nicholson. Anyway, I voted FMJ. There are so many classic scenes in that movie. It is only one-upped by Apocolypse Now for best Vietnam war movie.

I haven't seen all of his films, but that's the favorite I've seen.
I've also seen ACO, but the book is as good with a better ending.
FMJ was good; the plot dichotomy still feels wierd to me, though.

Apocolypse Now is one freaky movie.. gave me a weird mood after watching it.

Clockwork is by far my favorite: great sets, crazy dialogue, and just some of the sickest weirdest sense of imagination from any director.

I thought Eyes Wide Shut was ok...started pretty well in the beginning, but felt let down as the film progressed.

i have seen

FMJ (i voted for this one)
The Shining (the book was much better)
A Clockwork Orange
2001: A Space Odyssey
Dr. Strangelove

The Shining, simply because even though I loved it and saw it several times, it totally creeps me out to this day. I'm too chicken to watch it anymore.

A close second is Clockwork Orange, but I liked reading the book in Nadsat much better. 🙂

I voted for A Clockwork Orange, but I've seen:

Eyes Wide Shut
FMJ
Dr. Strangelove
Lolita
2001
The Killing
Paths of Glory
Spartacus

I really enjoyed all of them except 2001 and Spartacus.

Eyes Wide Shut, because morons don't get it. It seperates the idiots from people whose eyes really are open. The mind's eye that is.
