trying again now at the x8 x400 range ...

needs more Vcore - but interestingly even at same cpu speed and higher vcore - temps for equivalent CPU speed are lower than with x9 multiplier.

which do I trust more for temps - TAT or Core Temp ? Core Temp - worst so far is 56C

I had an overclocked Northwood - ran 24/7 no problems, games, encoding etc, ran Prime and it lasted 2 minutes !
Back then, Prime wasn't what it is today, as far as stability testing. Some motherboard/cpu combos wouldn't "pass" it at stock clocks. If I remember correctly, the problem was mostly with some P4 motherboards.

Both Core Temp and TAT should be reading within 1*C of each other, so I wouldn't worry. I'd personally trust TAT, though.
