Giants, big time. I live in NY and it was an absolutely amazing game, a real nailbiter even if you don't like football. Seeing those silly NEers have their perfect season ruined when they already had the book published was absolute cake. And Brady's leg injury was the cherry on top.

Phelps' record will stand for far longer than any other yearly competition.

Not that I follow baseball, but you might want to add the Philadelphia Phillies to your poll Syringer. :)

Phelps, Woods, and I'd also consider the Women's Volleyball team from this summer in their for their record.

Was going to mention this :)

but everyone in Philly makes it such a big deal... from a guy who comes from Cleveland, every time I hear a complainer I want to smack em upside the head.

Eh, I figure the only votes it'd get are homer votes, and not from real fans :)

I know, how awesome is it that someone had a terrible injury and had to have painful surgery! I know I always cheer when that happens!

Anyway, as far as the poll, definitely Phelps.

While I know Phelps accomplishment was much larger, the Giants game was total bliss.

It would definitely have to be the 4x100 meter swimming relay. The whole French guys talking crap and that last leg was just glorious.

I will have to say the Giants win. Wow....the stars aligned that day....just to show how much the pats secondary stunk. There is now way that pass would have been caught on any other day and there is no way Eli can escape that kind of rush again.

Voted Phelps. If it had been worded "previously undefeated Patriots lose Superbowl to Giants" then maybe I would have voted for that. Otherwise I don't think most people care that the Giants won the Superbowl, its who they beat that made it significant.
