Best Sport Bike purchase recommendations???

After all the great reviews of the GSX-R750 last year, I'm looking to grab a 2000 Gixxer here in the spring, and they're so reasonably priced too.
Is there anything else I should consider in the 600-750cc class?? I don't want anything too heavy, so the 'Busa/ZX-12 and such are totally out of the question. 🙂

Is that a '99 SirFshAlot??
I thought they only made the Blue/White & Yellow/Black combos for 2000?
What's the Honda got on the Suzuki that you know of?

mine's a '98; fuel injected

the Honda has ~200 cc's more than my 750, and I think the weight is comparable

I don't know about the handling though, cuz mine is really rider friendly.

I was really surprized the first time I took mine out at how well balanced it was through the turns.

I haven't sat on one newer than a 94, so I'm sure the weights now are even lighter than that old 750 I rode a while back. My neightbor had the same one as yours, I drooled over it everyday. hehe
That Honda is the 929 bike, eh? I suppose if I were to go Honda I would look at the RC-51.
The only reason I'm stuck on the Suz is from the one Cycle World review I read, 134bhp at the rears, and a 10.19s quarter mile! Geez, that's ridiculous! 🙂
And that's the main reason I want a 750, the weight. Have you rode a 900+?? I'm wondering just how much heavier they feel.

I haven't ridden a 900+ bike, but my heart was set on the old Honda 900RR Red/Black Erion scheme until Suzuki released the revamped GSXR. It just took me a couple of years to buy it.

You're right about the RC-51, though, that's most likely a higher performance bike than the Fireblade. I just wonder if it's as enjoyable to ride casually.

I spend a lot of time on mine during the summer, using it for work. I get mileage reimbursement.😉

Hehe, I'm sure the miles are adding up quickly then. 🙂
That's another reason I'd like to get a bike, the gas mileage will be incredible compared to what I have.
Thanks for the help buddy, much appreciated!
