I've got a pair of Altec Lansing ACS-48's and they are absolutely great. I picked them up for about $150 about a year or so ago. They should be a little cheaper now..Regards

pair of aura30/50 combos. they are sold at meci.com. dont be fooled by the cheesy site layout, they are alright people to deal with. i didnt get a chance to listen to an aura50, but my aura30 was much better than acs48, i tell you that much.. it was even comparable to my midiland s2 4100 except a bit less power (but hey you are paying only $100+shipping for a dualsub quad setup :D)

i have a pair of aura 20s... they are some ultra sharp speakers... the Aura 30's are a bit step up in terms of performance... if you look around you can get a pair for an amazing price ($30 on onsale 2 months back).

I'm assuming the 50 is a subwoofer... as long as it's better than the aura 40 I have...

I dunno man... mine must be broken... because I get almost NO sound out of my Aura 40s. I figured they were a sorta cheapy throw together to fill the package I bought from Costco.

I got the Cambridge Soundworks Microworks System -> nice overall system in terms of bass and mid-range. They're usually $250, but www.hifi.com has them on sale once in awhile for $115.

You really think they compare to the 4100's? I was thinking of getting the 4100's but if you can get something comparable for much less money why spend more. I'll have to look into those.

well 4100s do have smoother and better sound overall, packs much more power. but then i paid $230 for my 4100 whereas the aura30s go for $30... if ya got money to burn, s2 4100 all the way :D

oh, plus with the s2 4100, you get a cool controller drive, kickass tight bass (which is what the aspect30s are lacking)

I have to say my Altec Lansing ACS-56 speakers are awesome. They boom.
Games and music are much better now and they were affordable.

The Aura 30's and 40's have been going for $15 each at Egghead/Onsale auctions for the last couple of weeks. they seem to have tons of them and no one seems to buy them. I picked up 4 sets of the 30/40's for $40 per set shipped. IMHO there is nothing wrong with the 40's bass, In fact I think this is an awesome setup for $40.
