Are you only interested in a 5.1 setup? If not, look at the Logitech z2300. 200w system and should be within your price range.

Watts is the sound output of the speakers in this case.

Watts is the power rating of the amplifier/max power the speakers can handle

And doesn't directly mean volume because there are other factors.

xNIKx, I don't know if there's anything internally different between the x-530s and x-540s, but they look a lot like the same set except for some minor cosmetic differences.
