Best speakers for around $150 nowadays

I was all set to get my Altec 641s awhile back but everyone dependable stopped carrying them. So now I'm back to square one.

I really don't want to spend more than $150 but will if it's worth it. The Logitech Z-680 nice but more than what I want to pay and Logitech's are notorious for having problems.

So whats a good set now.

Can't you get a cheap home threater in a box system for that kinda price?

It will probably be much better than any computer speakers...

HTB's really aren't practical for PCs or at least my situation. I mainly want mine for music. I've read and read and read some more and just about everyone I've talked to says stick with Altec for listening to music. They produce crisper sounds and don't overload on bass like logitech. My ACS48s still jam but you can tell they've had their hayday and I'm starting to get some fuzzyness in the sounds from time to time.

I'll check at CC as I haven't really decided if I want 2 or 4 speaker setup. I don't play many games but when I do I would like to have front and rear just for the effect.
