Hi fellas. Have upgraded to M$'s latest. I have a SB Live Value, and Altec Lansing speakers, and the sound seems very fuzzy and crackly periodically, even with the latest drivers. Am looking at the Game Theatre XP, any good?

I heard some good things about the audigy, but I'm not so sure about it. The Turtle Beach Santa Cruz seems to be nice to me. The GTXP is nice, but unless you need all of that it wont do you any good.

Basically I just need a capable card, which has a TOSLINK Optical cable output for recording to MD.

I am using the Audigy player on Windows XP with an Epox 8K7A and it works great.

I am using the latest drivers from Creative website.

<< Its the optical out which I am finding hard to find. >>

I'm using Hercules GTXP under WinXP Pro. No problems at all... despite all the bitterness about the WinXP drivers.

The breakout box for Hercules GTXP does have Optical OUT port.
