All three of those cards are good gaming and DVD cards. I have not used the Santa Cruz, but many people seem to like it here. I have used both the SB Live, SB Live 5.1 Platnium, and the Philips Acoustic Edge, and I prefer the AE is both games and DVD's. Music performance is very good as well. Just do some research and get some more opinions and decide for yourself, you will be happy with any of those three cards..:)

how about the live 5.1 series for 5.1 sound? Since it'll be best suited for watching DVD's and the creative cards are also pretty good for games too..

The Santa Cruz and AE are both 5.1 soundcards, so they are all suited for DVD's. The AE has QMSS though, and it is very impressive in DVD's. I actually prefer it to true AC-3 Dolby Digital, it sends much more information to the rear speakers...:)

I like the Santa Cruz much better than the SBLive!. I have yet to experience the AE, however.

I'd still go for a Sb Live!, my Platinum version works well on both DVDs and Games.
