The greatest band ever to grace mankind was formed in Stockholm Sweden in 1990. Five years later they released their first full Album. The album, "Orchid", was pure genius epic progressive death metal. The very next year, they released what some consider to be their opus, The Album "Morningrise." mixed death metal with progressive and acoustic elements. The music was very harsh and raw, yet it was very soft and warm all at the same time. The lyrics are pure poetry. The musicianship is spectacular. On this greatest of great CDs, there are 5 amazingly epic tracks. The track "Black Rose Immortal" is believed by at least one person to be the grandest song ever played.

All Hail the mighty OPETH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Man I just realized this is the song that ultimately caused me to start this thread. I heard it over the weekend and couldn't figure out what it was called. Thanks!

Most underappreciated band of the 90's: HUM

You might remember their song "Stars" from "You'd Prefer an Astronaut", but their album "Downward is Heavenward" is probably one of the best albums of the 90's period.
