I have an outside building with 2 sliding glass doors but neither one of them have the the other side of the lock:

Just curious on my options as I really don't want to have to replace anything too major.

the strike just screws in. you should be able to take your picture to a good hardware store and get help. Snap a few more, measure the depth, etc.
Good meaning probably not HD or Lowes :)

Buy the keeper plate. There's a few different styles, so you want to take a picture of your locks down to the hardware store with you and ask.

Thanks guys.

Regarding the keeper plate. Do I need to cut a piece out of the white framing of the door to screw it in the wood or just install it over it?

Depends on the depth of the plate that works with your lock lever, and the depth of the frame. It may be necessary to recess the plate to get the door to close without a gap, but other doors have room for the plate to be mounted on top and still close fine. That said from the pictures it looks like you may need to recess.

My suggestion would be get a compatible plate, try screwing it on over top, if the door doesn't close well enough then you can do the extra work.
