Theres a nice program called ConvertXtoDVD, from VSO software. It's easy to use and gives good results. It cant really compare to using something like DVD Rebuilder (which is free), but that is daunting for the novice as it relies on a whole toolchain of open source applications. ConvertXtoDVD supports almost any file format. However, it costs $.
If you want to convert files to iPod compatible MPEG4, MeGUI is a good choice. It is pretty simple to use, and has presets for converting to iPod. It's a little tricky to get running, but easier than DVD Rebuilder. Go to Doom9.net to read about it. The forums are required reading.
If you just want to use a silly little all in one program to do it, Videora is acceptable. It also costs $ though.
Again, you will get better results in both instances if you use freely available tools, but they are trickier to set up and learn how to use. If you prefer the AOL approach, get the all in one payware. Good luck at any rate.
