Try to understand CloneCD, and visit their boards.

They have made tons of improvements to it and even have set-up guides for whatever games you need to make a personal back-up of.

For every other kind of copying, a lot of people like Nero.

For game copying, CloneCD is the one.

ummmm,

some senteces and punctuation would make your post a lot easier to read and understand.

Clone CD, and Nero, will burn slow in Demo mode.

DukeLeto--I know I've run across a site that shows CloneCD settings for specific backups. Do you have the URL? Plex12x4x32x.

you said it, I didn't.....but, I thought it (punctuation).....

grass--I just can't do it any more.......I've walked too many people through old IDE setups....

1. You say you used to have Acraptec installed. Have you read the Nero FAQ's re: other burner programs/installed files and conflicts.

2. My Dad never was able to make the 1622 work with Nero after he had installed NTI. BUT, he didn't bother troubleshooting it, as he uses another burner.

3. I have a friend with the 1622 and Win98. She installed NTI, then CloneCD, then Nero. NTI worked, CloneCD worked, but Nero would not start the burn. She is troubleshooting it with FAQ's from Nero's site, AND, is going to unintstall both NTI and Nero, then remove all references to Nero and NTI from the registry, then reinstall Nero. All this after she has tried the FAQ's from Nero's site.

IF you have a supported burner, Nero and CloneCD and Plextor Manager 2000 (version of Ghost) are all you need.

If your burner isn't supported by CloneCD, Blindread/Write Suite is a great alternative. It works great with my Ricoh 7060A. It even copied Thief 2 without a problem. Seems excellent for all the Safedisc games.

i went to the site and they won't give a demo version to try ,i know it says it supports ,ME, WIN98 , which i think thats what messed up my adaptech and easy creator ,my brother inlaw bough the plexer 32x10x12 and he had gotten easy creator and says that he gets the blue screen of death !!!!!!and thats the new version ,I just tried the NTICD software again and it sends it to the harddrive ,then when it goes to write it freezes up ,nero took me four hours to do 2 music cd,s and it tells me if i want to do it on the fly one cd has to be on the primary ribbon ,so i'm going to give this a try soon !!!!

Nero 5.0, hands down! But if your CD-RW Drive can handle Blind Read I'd go for that. I haven't had any problems copying any game app or whatever with Nero, though. I know this is illegal but hey, we're all doing it ;) You can go here for the most extensive info on anything concerning copying cd's: GameCopyWorld

Zenith--It is legal to make an archival backup of your legally owned software, which, I assume, is what we are all doing. I just wanted to make it clear for the mods.

Well yesterday i though i had my problems soveled by downloading a vdx file from gamecopyworld the atapi (vdx) file tried cloan cd again ,changed over the CD-ROM to primary slave and the harddrive to master so i could do it to on the fly like Nero said ,but it din't work almost 2 hrs to do one CD so so Tried NTICD PRO 2000 that came with errors so i E-MAIL NTICD and Clone because they asked what errors have come up and to explain to them so thats that Thanks
